The start
Four of us met at Circular Quay and had morning tea nearby before boarding the 10.05 ferry to Watsons Bay
Missing were Helen, Richard & Natalie who were in Europe & Yvonne other commitments before heading to Europe tomorrow
Points of Interest
Followed the road past many old quaint cottages (1850‘s vintage)to reach Green Point then headed across Camp Cove beach to the track that leads past Lady Bay beach to the Sydney Harbour National Park
In the park stand two1858 keepers houses. Near the first is an unfinished gun emplacement begun in 1853. A short way further on is the Hornby Lighthouse (1858)
Back to Watsons Bay then headed up past HMAS Watson to the cliff walk Continued along the cliff track past the Gap before reaching the Signal station. Along the way stands the monument to the Dunbar. This ship was washed upon the rocks in 1857 with the loss of 122. Only one person survived.
The finish
Back down to Watsons Bay for lunch at the Hotel (previously Doyles).
Caught the 1.45 ferry back to the Quay
