Central to Circular Quay via Darling Harbour
Participants
Ron, Chris, Helen, Peter, Richard and Yvonne joined us for lunch. Natalie and Colin enjoying the family wedding.
The start
The group met at the very end of the Devonshire Tunnel.
Points of Interest
- walk down the Goods Line. Morning tea at one of the cafes here alongside an ABC Covo reporter
- past the Convention Centre buildings and the new Imax ‘boat’ building
- time for pictures with Santa beside the Ferris wheel
- around the Maritime museum to see the very long submarine (HMAS Onslow) , the replica of the Endeavour, the Welcome wall and the poles informing of the life and many voyages of James Cook
- over Pyrmont Bridge and past the Aquarium, the many restaurants and the huge harbour ferries
- we walked around the newly opened section of the path in front of the new Casino before heading back to the road around the Casino and Barangaroo metro station site.
- from here it was up to Stargazer lawn and then on to the streets of the Rocks. We could see the workings of the yet to be completed Metro station. We walked up to Lower Fort Street and then down Argyle Street to the Clocktower for lunch. Yvonne joined us here.

- a walk along George St and down to Circular Quay station
