Venue - Leura, The Blue Mountains (31 Oct – 3 Nov)
Participants - Ron, Chris, Richard, Helen, Yvonne, Peter , Natalie, Colin
Tuesday - We all arrived at Kippilaw, Leura about 11.30am and enjoyed morning tea supplied by Chris and Natalie. Yum!
Next it was up to the local shopping area for a sandwich lunch and then the girls went shopping for supplies for the rest of the stay.
Wednesday - Natalie’s birthday.
Six of the group walked to Katoomba, had morning tea, looked in some shops (the ‘antique’ shop was interesting), walked to The Three Sisters, had homemade sandwich lunch in the ‘man cave’ and then walked back to Kippilaw via the Prince Henry Cliff Walk.
Two of the group had a walk around the Wentworth Falls lake, came back for lunch and in the afternoon visited the Rhododendron gardens at Blackheath, and later, Anvil and Pulpit Rock.
A great tasting BBQ tea was enjoyed by all.
Thursday - Six members spent the morning at the Rhododendron gardens enjoying a cream scone morning tea before leaving for Anvil and then Pulpit Rocks.
Two people explored walks around Lawson. We all ended up back at Kippilaw at different times for lunch. Bacon and egg sandwiches cooked to Natalie’s recipe on the BBQ were a tasty treat for several people.
The girls went shopping in the afternoon with Colin visiting Sublime Point and the other three guys checking the Lyrebird Dell-Pool of Siloam circuit walk.
After much decision making, or lack of it, we decided on Pizzas for dinner!
The weather each day was just perfect for each activity – blue skies, gentle breeze and temps around 18-20. The Azaleas and Rhododendrons were blooming in so many colours in so many gardens.
Friday - We left around 8.30am and headed home. Until next time.
