Location
Robertson in the Southern Highlands – 6-9 November ($3090 for 3 night at Madison Park)
Participants
Chris, Helen, Richard, Natalie, Colin, Yvonne, Peter
The start
We met at the Information centre in Mittagong before going for morning tea at the Station Café
Points of Interest
Monday
-Mt Gibraltar lookouts – Mittagong, Jellore and Bowral lookouts gave spectacular views into the valley
-Bowral for a light lunch and then to Woolies to shop for our supplies. (Kitty has $50 each with some left for 2022)
-Marsden Park – Unpack, nibbles on the veranda, a walk to the creek or up the hill to look for the waratahs (finished)
-chicken and salads that Natalie produced. Yum!
Tuesday
-Belmore Falls and Hindmarsh lookout
-back to Madison Park for morning tea and later, lunch
-In the afternoon we walked through Robertson seeing the many heritage buildings
-Melbourne Cup – frustratingly we couldn’t get the TV to show it so we saw the event of Pete’s phone. Chris ‘backed’ the winner.
-our now famous “BBQ Christmas Dinner” – the boys attended to the BBQ while the girls made the salads etc and decorated the Christmas table.
Wednesday
-a revisit to Carrington Falls, Nellie’s Glenn and Warris Chair lookout
-Robertson Pie Shop for some of us to get some pies to take home
-after lunch we went to the Illawarra Flyer where we walked through the tree tops and looked down into the valley. (cost $22 each)
-Robertson Cheese Factory for a wander
-a great dinner from all goods left in the fridge
Thursday
-after breakfast we all left for the trip back to appointments in Sydney
The finish
-much discussion and research about where to go in 2024. Madison Park again? Yet to be decided
Distance walked
