The April walk saw the SAM group heading to Cronulla and then across to Bundeena. This was the first time since October 2010 that the nine Sydney friends had explored an area of Sydney together.
The group met at Cronulla station and walked the southern Cronulla point via Gunnamatta Bay. As the tide was low the group were able to go via the sand. The day was perfect with clear blue skies and a low breeze. The group passed the Fisheries (soon to be closed), the Bass and Flinders memorial, Oak Park and Shelley beaches before reaching Cronulla South. They headed back to the station and around to the ferry wharf for morning tea before catching the green and yellow ferry across to Bundeena.
First stop was the local RSL for lunch (great view and meal) and then it was off through the local streets and natural bush towards one of the coastal tracks. This ended at the coast line atop colourful sandstone cliffs and great views towards the south.
The group headed back through streets of local and holiday homes to catch, with lots of other day trippers, the 3.00pm ferry. Another enjoyable day for us all!
