May 2018 Report
Venue
Botanical Gardens
Participants
Ron, Chris, Yvonne, Peter
Helen, Richard, Natalie & Colin on holidays
The start
We met at 9.45am at Circular Quay
Points of Interest
We walked through Underwood Lane to view the Underwood Ark, a tree from Tomerong NSW that was cut and stripped of its bark and leaves and the root ball cleaned and sculpted. As it ages and weathers, the blackbutt will develop a silvery grey colour.
We then traced our steps back to Circular Quay to the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia for morning tea.
A leisurely stroll through the gardens to the Café for our lunch stop.
After lunch a stop at The Calyx for the Pollination Display.
Next stop was at St Stephen's Uniting Church. This is the Church that Peter rehearses the Messiah.
The finish
Back to the Railway/Bus stations for our trips home at around 2.45pm
Distance walked
Approximately 4Km
